Saira Thomas is a fourteen-year-old author and sustainability advocate from Cambridge International School, Dubai. She began her sustainability journey at the age of 10 when she was selected as the child author from the Middle East for the UNESCO VOFG CI in 2020. Her works include The Green Warrior (first place in the VOFG Story Writing Competition), The Adventures of Alko Batterio (Environmental Excellence School Award 2021), and Fruit of Endurance (Lune Spark Anthology).
Elected Youth Ambassador for the Goals Project consecutively for 2024 and 2025, she is also a Councillor at the Global Youth Council on Science, Law, and Sustainability. Saira serves on the editorial board of HARMONY, an international online journal for youth, focused on SDGs, and was recently appointed Assistant Editor for the VOFG Arabia Newsletter, a new publication aimed at sharing SDG-related content for children.
As a dedicated vegetarian with a love for nature and animals, Saira strives to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire others to live more sustainably.
